The winter season is here and for many, this means more time spent dining indoors with friends and family. As the temperatures continue to drop and comforting objects such as sweaters and cozy gloves become prominent, we begin to crave comfort foods that warms the soul.

If you are unsure which wines to choose when pairing with a winter dish from our menu, allow us to offer some inspiration:

American Wagyu

If you enjoy a fatty cut of meat, you’ll enjoy our American Wagyu paired with a full bodied wine with a decent amount of acidity to compliment the fat content. For red wine lovers, try a classic Cabernet Sauvignon. The Rutledge features exceptional options by the glass and bottle. We suggest a glass of the 2019 Revelette Cabernet Sauvignon which features dark fruit notes, predominant tannic structure with a finessed finish.

Margherita Pizza

The best pizza is for sharing, and so is wine! For this menu selection, we suggest a Cabernet Franc, specifically Chappellet Cabernet Franc. Cabernet Franc is one of the most food-friendly wines. This dry, medium bodied wine with medium-high acidity pairs perfectly with the acidity of the tomato sauce and savory flavors of the pizza crust and fresh mozzarella.

Strawberry Salad

For this refreshing salad, we suggest pairing with a crisp, light-medium bodied white wine. We suggest a glass of the Chateau de Montfort Chenin Blanc. This light-medium bodied, high acidity wine pairs perfectly with the savory grilled salmon and the bright flavors of freshly sliced strawberries.

We invite you to join us at our Downtown Nashville or Franklin locations for an unforgettable dining experience.
